Part of the country’s largest district-the Central District Council, Boteti Sub-Council was established to service local communities within Boteti, from the Malatswai gate as far as to Makalamabedi. The Sub-District was opened in the early 90’s with the RAC being fully functional in the years 1991/92. It is bordered to the South-East by Tutume, South by Serowe, North-West by the CKGR, South by Malatswai, East by Mokubilo and to the North by Makalamabedi.
The Sub-Council currently operates as an administrative engine headed by the Senior Assistant Council Secretary Mr Onthatile Molelu who works harmoniously with a political sphere, one headed by the Sub Council Chairperson Mr Solomon Cornelius. Boteti Sub-District has a total number of twenty (22) Councilors with four (4). Departmental services within the council include among others Environmental Health, S&CD and Public Relations, Matimela, CTU, Information Technology Unit, SHHA, Commercial, Roads, Electrical, treasury, Bye-Law, Treasury and LAPAD. Achievements the council has achieved so far are numerous accolades, especially from the Environmental Health Department. They’ve won best overall performance two consecutive times and best performing primary health care in the years 2009/2010.
The Sub-District has also an operational service center in Rakops which was opened in 2009, with resources of staff and transport.
