Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the above position in the Ministry of Health - Department of Health Services Management, tenable at Boteti DHMT and Ngami DMHT.
SALARY: D4 (P232, 140 - P255, 876 per annum)
BENEFITS:

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS/DDSc)/ Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BchD/BDS)/ Doctor of Dental Medicine
(DMD), / Medicine Dentium Doctoris (MDDr).
Applicants must have valid practicing licenses issued by the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC).
EXPERIENCE:
must have completed one (1) year internship.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide preventative, diagnostic, curative, promotive and rehabilitative oral health services to a general patient population within a designated district and dental facility.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Consult and examine patients to identify oral health conditions (including referred patients).
• Take, develop, and interpret intra-oral and panoramic radiographs as an aid to diagnosis.
• Order and interpret extra - oral radiographs as an aid to diagnosis.
• Draw blood, order tests and interpret results as an aid to management of patient's condition.
• Perform incisional and minor excisional biopsies.
• Communicate the treatment plan of care to the patient.
• Treat patients for preventive, restorative, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, periodontology, maxillofacial, oral medicine and endodontic and/ or refers as necessary.
• Prepare the patient for operations in theater.
• Participates in oral disease prevention and health promotional programmes in designated areas.
• Undertake outreach services to designated areas.
• Admit patients in the facility requiring in-patient care.
• Provide advice and guidance in oral health related matters to stakeholders.
• Implement infection prevention and control measures in the dental clinic.
• Attend to customer complaints and enquiries.
• Liaise with stakeholders for the better running of the facility.
