ROLE SUMMARY:

• Provide Overall Day to Day Supervision of a team of Medical Laboratory Scientists.
• To perform a wide range of procedures in all disciplines/sections of the Medical Laboratory and other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
• Provide Leadership in the implementation of Quality Management Systems.
• Coordinate Internal Quality Audits, Review QMS Activities and Management Reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences Degree or an equivalent from a recognized institution. Masters Degree an added advantage
• Registration with Botswana Health Professions Council.
• Previous experience in Laboratory Management.
• At Least 5 years experience in the multidisciplinary sections of laboratory especially Medical Microbiology.
• Advanced Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 15189-2012)

KEY WORK OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provision of Advisory Services to Laboratory Users
• Evaluation of External Suppliers and Referral Laboratories
• Customer Relationship Management and Assessment of User Feedback
• Review of Quality Management Activities including Non Conformances, Corrective Actions, Preventive Action and execution of Continual Quality Improvement Projects
• Accurate analysis of specimens and timely release of results
• Internal Quality Audits, Risk Management
• Prepare and revise SOPs, Job Aids and Forms as maybe required in documenting the Quality Management System and maintaining ISO 15189 (2012) Accreditation requirements.
• Full Implementation of Quality Management Activities
