Applicants are invited from highly motivated and well experienced citizens of Botswana for the position of Director - Procurement and Project Management in Ministry of Agriculture under Department of Corporate Services.
Salary Scale: El (P442, 392.00 to P460,296.00 per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum
• For new entrants to the Public Service, a contract of 24-36 months with gratuity payable at the rate of 30% upon the expiry of contract.
• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme with Botswana Public Officer Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) (Government pays 50% and the employee 50%).
However in the event the applicant has been subscribing to other Medical Aid Schemes besides BPOMAS an option to continue membership with respective Medical Schemes will be allowed. Government undertakes to contribute an amount equivalent to the position that the employee would have been entitled to under BPOMAS.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Project Management or any other related field.
Must be a chattered member of one of the listed Institutions or a recognized equivalent Institution: CIPS, MCIPS, CILT, ISM, NCMA, ERB, ARC orQRSB.
A minimum of sixteen (16) years relevant work experience, two (2) years of which must have been served as Deputy Director at E2 salary scale or equivalent.
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide strategic leadership and guidance on the execution of procurement, facilities management and contract management, as well as asset disposal in a timely and most cost effective manner.
Key Performance Areas
Development of the Procurement & Project management strategy in line with the relevant laws, polices and regulations and facilitates its implementation.
Manage all procurement and disposal by tender activities of the ministry.
Negotiations with bidders/contractors for effective delivery of procurement services.
Engagement of relevant stakeholders for successful delivery of procurement Promote awareness of the procurement process and its contribution to service delivery amongst all technical and user departments in a Ministry.
Monitor and evaluate the performance level of the Procurement unit as well as benchmark with other.
Supervision of maintenance of adequate stock control and replenishment systems in the Ministry.
Coordinate the preparation of the Procurement Unit budget.
