The following vacancy exists within First National Bank

The successful incumbent will be reporting to the CEO and be responsible for defining and executing the roadmap of retail financial services in Botswana. This includes products and customer experiences across all consumer, personal, and private banking categories and channels, including the upholdingand implementation of the brand and all-digital banking strategies.

The individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Assess market conditions to define, recommend, implement to monitor retail banking strategy to gain and sustain the bank's competitive edge and meet retail banking objectives
• Define and drive the tactical sales strategy for area of responsibility
• Develop tactical plans to drive revenue growth
• Draw up a budget aligned to tactical delivery plans to facilitate the provision of adequate financial resources
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in area of expertise
• Analyse information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes
• Identify, drive and implement ideas, policies, procedures, standards and frameworks to enhance sales and increase profit and manage future fit practice
• Deploys integrated risk management, governance and compliance frameworks throughout area of responsibility
• Establish mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders that support thought leadership, innovative and integrated practice solutions
• Design and deliver customer service solutions, systems and interactions aligned to organisational values and service standards that build the brand
• Apply a customer-centric approach to ensure customer


• Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across business areas and across the group
• Manage team or teams in areas of responsibility in delivery against performance targets and achievement of wider human capital objectives
• Demonstrate leadership behavior through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Qualification - Postgraduate Degree in a relevant field, preferences in Marketing, Finance, Commerce or Behavioral Economics
• Preferred Qualification - Masters Degree in a relevant field, preferences in Marketing, Finance, Commerce, Behavioral Economics or an MBA
• Experience - 5 to 8 years' experience in a similar environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at management level
• Additional Knowledge - Financial services product/ strategy/ CX roles knowledge, or relevant management consulting experience in the financial services industry
• Ability to influence at peer and senior management
