AUG 2018 – OCT 2018: ORAPA MINE SAFETY BERM PROJECT

Spent my time on the safety berm project working in the capacity of a production
Supervisor;
Duties included, but not limited to, supervising;
• Site establishment works
• Berm setting out works
• Loading and hauling operations

OCT 2018 - CURRENT: PROVISION OF SLOPE SUPPORT FOR AK1 PIT, CUT
2 PROJECT AT ORAPA MINE.

As a Graduate Engineer I was a appointed Shift Boss (17.1), later reappointed
Production Supervisor (18.1) For Provision of Slope Support in Ak1 Pit- Cut 2. The
Project Includes the Installation of Drapery Wire Mesh on The Highwall to Stabilise
and Safely Control Dislodging Loose Rocks. Part of The Works Is the Installation of
Cable Bolt Anchors, Thin Spray-On Liners, Shortcrete And Gabions to Stabilise
Mudstone Lenses at Mudstone-Sandstone Contact Zones.
DUTIES INCLUDE;
-Supervising production
-implementing all safety and health regulations
-providing quality assurance for the installation works

AUG 2017 TO JUNE 2018 - MOHW FACILITY MANAGEMENT (KGALAGADI
DISTRICT)

Site Investigation;
Site visits were made to all the primary hospitals, clinics and health posts to carry
out a physical assessment of the existing buildings. The assessment was carried o
ut in the following form and order;
Reconnaissance Survey
O Preliminary investigation
O Detailed investigation
O Data collection
A visual assessment of the building was carried out during the site visit to record the
structural state of the building. Photographs of walls, floors, ceiling, columns, cracks
and all visible defects were taken. The use of checklists was also adopted.
Condition Survey Reports;
Comprehensive property condition reports were prepared and a suggestion for
repairs and upgrades of selected maintenance items were made. The suggestions
were made to assist the client to identify certain maintenance issues that may
prolong the life of the concerned buildings.
Scoping Audit Reports;
-A comprehensive summary of all the works to be carried out in all the facilities was
made.
-A maintenance schedule which works together with the scoping reports was all
produced.

Spent first month of training onsite at iTowers Project as Trainee Resident Engineer
and occasionally carried out some work and inspections on other project.

• iTowers2; a 29 storey multiuse building under construction in the
CBD,Gaborone,Botswana
• Pilane Shopping Mall in Pilane,Botswana
• Bemcoville ;An extension of the existing multi residential estate in Broadhurst,
Gaborone, Botswana

• Supervision of some construction works
• Preparing works daily reports,
The remainder of the 20 week(+6weeks @ personal request) programme was spent
at ADA Head office working as a trainee Structural Designer And CAD Technician
(Draughtsman)

During my second year winter break i served an 8week internship at Wharic Constructions
on site primarily as an assistant surveyor.
